My music

In Orbit are a four-piece indie/folk band from Nijmegen, the Netherlands. All members are students aged 21-24. Armed with a broad set of instruments they play acoustic songs on whatever comes to mind. Musically, their sound varies between peaceful melodies and energetic highlights. In June 2013, In Orbit self-released their debut EP “It’s Not That Cold If You Dress Well” and in the summer of 2014 they did a (partly sofaconcert) tour through Germany. We prefer to play acoustically, this normally works really well for us in a living room.

Great music and wonderful people! Definitely one of the best concerts I have ever hosted. Niek, Jessie, Merlijn and Thijs are humble and down-to-earth people, very easy to get along with, and all of them are brilliant musicians. Although it was an extremely hot day, the atmoshere was great because everybody could feel and see how much they enjoyed performing their songs. I got lots of positive feedback from the audience. We really hope to have In Orbit playing here again in future.

Thank you very much In Orbit, you were simply wonderful! For us it was the SofaConcerts premiere and what can I say: it was a perfect evening. Spontaneously you chose the garden as a stage and that was a good decision! In the most beautiful summer weather imaginable, about 35 enthusiastic listeners experienced harmonious, beautifully arranged songs with multi-voice singing and an ideal instrumentation for the mild summer evening. We heard gentle tones, but also some slightly rockier numbers, until many could no longer stay in their seats during the encores. The four of you have a special, modest and very likeable stage presence that touched the audience deeply. We all felt very comfortable. We have rarely experienced such a beautiful evening with wonderful music!: Atmospheric songs, a lot of Dutch charm paired with catchy tunes, at times we simply couldn't sit still! Very heartfelt thanks to Niek, Merlyn, Jessie and Thys for your charming enthusiasm for my many guests and me (also for the musical dedication to our birthday child)!..
